Conceptual design of the Vrh Vinogorski landslide remediation
In the area of Vrh Vinagorski near the city of Pregrada, a large-scale landslide has been active since 2014. The area includes slopes between the peaks of Vinagora, Martiša Vesi and Vrh Vinagorski. It is about 23.0 ha, with a circumference of about 2.30 km and the depth of the sliding surface up to 6.0 m.
As part of the conceptual design for the Vrh Vinagorski landslide remediation, planned works include the lowering of groundwater level and the prevention of rainwater infiltration, as well as the works needed to ensure the stability of the slope, which include the construction of a supporting structure. Reconstruction of roads within the boundaries of works is also planned.
In order to lower the groundwater level and ensure the stability of the slope, the construction of a support-drainage structure of reinforced concrete shafts (a total of 13) is planned. Shafts consist of a primary support (reinforced concrete ring), a secondary support, a base, an end ring and a cover. The primary support is made of concrete elements with an outer diameter D = 5.0 m, height H = 1.0.
The reconstruction of roads in the landslide zone includes the removal of existing pavement structure, excavation for material replacement, arrangement of the foundation soil by compaction, geotextiles laying, installation of 50.0 cm thick rock material and installation of a new load-bearing buffer layer of mechanically stabilized granular rock material.
The construction of rainwater drainage of the roads and the connection to the system of rainwater drainage canals is planned. Rainwater drainage of roads is carried out by installing prefabricated concrete channels Type 1, constructing an inflow structure for receiving water from the channels, and constructing the connection of the inflow structure and rainwater drainage channels.
