Bauma 2019 – a look into the future
And this year, from 8th to 14th of April, Bauma has opened its doors to present new world trends in the construction engineering sector. With a multitude of exhibitors, visitors and great media attention, it deservedly takes a position of the leading trade fair in the world.
About Bauma
Bauma is the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment. It takes place every three years in Munich, Germany.
The first exhibition took place in 1954 in Munich and was then known as the spring show for construction machinery. 58 exhibitors presented their products on a total gross area of 20,000 m², attracting around 8,000 visitors. Two years later, the exhibition space had already doubled and the name “bauma”, which is still used today, was introduced. In the early days, the fair was a purely German exhibition. In 1958, the first exhibitors from abroad took part in Bauma.
Due to the great interest of exhibitors and the great construction boom, the fair grew year by year and became the largest construction engineering fair in the world.
The trade fair comprises four sectors:
- The “All around construction sites” sector includes suppliers of construction vehicles, construction machinery, construction tools, lifting appliances, formwork and scaffoldings.
- The exhibition sector “Mining, extraction and processing of raw materials” pools manufacturers of machines for the extraction of raw materials and mining as well as of mineral processing technology.
- The “Production of building materials” sector comprises machines and plants for producing concrete, asphalt, clay and similar building materials.
- The “Components and service suppliers” sector includes drive technology, testing, measurement and control technology and accessories
Bauma 2019 – the largest trade fair ever held
With more than 620,000 visitors from over 200 countries, Bauma 2019, generated the best results in the exhibition’s 65-year history. The number of visitors rose by about 40,000 over the total produced during the previous event in 2016. More than 250,000 visitors came from countries outside Germany. The number of exhibitors totaled about 3,700 from 63 countries – likewise a record. With its unprecedented 614,000 square meters of space, the largest Bauma ever held was once again a Bauma filled with records.
The clear focal point of this year’s Bauma was sustainable and digital solutions. All exhibitors agreed that digitalization is a “megatrend” in the construction machinery industry. At Bauma 2019, exhibitors demonstrated their efficient solutions to meet the market’s current needs and challenges. In addition to its industrial focus, Bauma was also a huge world of experience
Company Geotech d.o.o. was the part of the visitors and took some pictures in the geotechnical fields.
