Open pit protection – SRC Marino Cvetković, Opatija
Sport recreational center Marino Cvetković is located in the eastern part of the city of Opatija with an area of 11.000 m2. To ensure the stability during the construction and exploitation phase it was neccecary to secure an open pit with a maximum depth of 22,60 m. Provided measures included construction of a reinforced concrete beam on the rim of the pit, a system installation of self-drilling anchors and reinforced shotcrete, installation of self-drilling drains and a construction of a reinforced concrete mat structure with anchors in the fault zone. Measurements and observations of provided measures were conducted during the construction and exploitation phase.
