Geofluid 2021
Last week our path took us to the city of Piacenza near Milan, where we attended one of the most important fairs for drilling machines, mining industry, special foundations, and geological, geophysical and geotechnical investigation and testing—the Geofluid 2021.
Together with our partner company Rijekaprojekt geotehničko istraživanje d.o.o. we explored the entire fair, looking at impressive new machines, discovering new technologies and enjoying our time together.
Fair location – Piacenza
The location for the fair was not randomly chosen. Piacenza is located in the Padan plain, at an altitude of 61 meters above sea level. It sits on the right shore of the Po river, between the estuary of the Trebbia river in the west and the Nure river in the east. Piacenza is a city of art as well as an important highway and railway junction.
About the fair
Geofluid is traditionally held every 2 years at the Piacenza Expo near Milan, showcasing novelties from the fields of geotechnics, oil industry and mining.
This year, the fair was divided into the following thematic areas:
- GEOFLUID – Technologies and equipment for investigation, extraction and transport of underground fluids,
- GEO TECHNOLOGY – Machines and equipment for geotechnics and special foundations,
- GEO TUNNEL – Machines, equipment and instruments for tunnel construction,
- GEO CONTROL – Instrumentation and equipment for analysis, environmental monitoring, hydrogeology and soil protection.
With more than 250 exhibitors and around 9,500 visitors, this fair deservedly occupies the position of the most important exhibition of machinery and equipment in Europe.
Not only was it a privilege to see the exhibited machines and equipment, the fair also proved to be a great opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from all over Europe, and even to establish future business cooperation.

After visiting the fair, we visited the Massenza factory, one of the leading manufacturers of drilling machines in Europe. The factory has been in business since 1921 and exports its products worldwide.
We are very glad that we had the opportunity to see the modern drilling machine production process, and a picture of their first drilling machine back from 1921 was a special treat.
After a very useful and educational visit to the factory, we visited Padua and enjoyed the beauties of the city.
The Geofluid 2021 fair was a great opportunity to exchange experiences, suggestions and ideas, as well as new contacts and enjoy pleasant company.
Having gotten acquainted with new technologies, we will also be able to improve our work process in order to provide our clients with even faster and higher quality service.
