Foundation design – bridge over the Kutinica stream
The construction of the bridge over the Kutinica stream is planned at a location in the town of Kutina. The planned bridge with access road ramps will connect two parts of the town: the new town square in the west part and the Dalmatinska ulica street in the east part of the town.
For the construction of this bridge, we have made the main and the detailed foundation designs, which include the construction of a deep foundation for the bridge. The foundation is planned on two abutments. The reinforced concrete foundation of the abutment is 0.80 m thick and has a plan dimension of 5.0 x 9.80 m. Before the abutments can be constructed, a deep foundation is to be executed—nineteen reinforced concrete drilled piles, diameter D = 400.0 mm, length L = 10.0 m.
Before the construction of the reinforced concrete drilled piles and the abutment foundations can begin, it is necessary to perform a wide machine excavation of the existing material. Prior to the construction, a total of two exploration boreholes with a depth of L = 12.0 m were drilled, which were used to verify the presumed geotechnical profile at the abutment location. The reinforced concrete drilled piles are connected to the reinforced concrete foundation of the abutment using their reinforcement.
